Together with the guys from “Hermitcraft”, docm77 will publicly play “Minecraft” for the second year in a row, inviting his followers and viewers to take part in the game and at the same time be inspired by the work of the German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer. Again he is supported by Tom Lemke, founder of the full-service consulting agency “Skillshot”. Together they collect donations for young people with cancer during the 12-hour game. Lemke, who spoke to the Foundation last year and offered his help, is looking forward to continuing the creative charity campaign:

“Young people are only starting to build their own existences. If they then receive the diagnosis of cancer, they are shattered by its consequences. After the great success of the charity stream last year and the owerwelming positive feedback from the gaming community, we did not have to think twice about repeating it. And this year we want to be even more successful!” Lemke adds: “On average, the users of our gaming streams are 18 to 29 years old. They are the same age as the people involved in the foundation. That just fits perfectly. It is important for us to point out that cancer knows no age. ”

Also this year, many companies generously support the special charity campaign with donations in kind amounting to almost 6,000 euros. The donating audience can once again participate live and participate in the raffles with attractive prizes. In addition, so-called “donation goals” have been worked out. When certain donation levels are reached, there will be additional games and surprises with docm77 and Tom.

“The charity stream for the young adults with cancer last year was a lot of fun. We play Minecraft and other games, and at the same time hundreds of thousands of people around the world follow us”, explains Docm77. “Cancer is still one of the most serious diseases of our time. I am fortunate to be in a position to reach many people, especially young adults and adolescents. To use this range again for charitable purposes was out of the question for me. The gaming community has been very generous in supporting various charity projects for many years, and I admit that it was highly emotional for me because of last years donation”, he adds.

The Foundation’s work and offerings for young people who have or had a cancer diagnoses at the age of 18 to 39 and are living with the consequences of the serious illness are made possible only through donations. “That’s why we are very happy that this creative event by the professional gamer is taking place again. By that, we reach an enormous number of people and draw attention to the very important issue of cancer within young ages”, explains Foundation Board member Prof. Dr. med. med. Diana Lüftner.

Every year, 15,000 young women and men between the ages of 18 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer in Germany. The German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer is the contact person for patients, relatives, scientists, supporters and the public. “The foundation projects are developed in close collaboration with the young patients, specialists and other experts and offer direct and competent support for the young patients”, explains Prof. Dr. med. med. Mathias Freund, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The foundation was founded in July 2014 by DGHO German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology e. V..
