This includes, for example, your real name, your address, your telephone number or your date of birth.

Personal data is defined according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), which will enter into force in May 2018:

“Personal data” refers to all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter “data subject”); a natural person is regarded as identifiable, if he/she can be directly or indirectly identified, especially by means of association with an identifier such as a name, with an identification number, with location data, with an online ID or with one or several special features reflecting the physical, physiological, genetic, psychic, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

When processing your personal data in order to fulfill a contract between you and the German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO applies as the legal basis. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for carrying out pre-contractual activities.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c of the DSGVO applies as the legal basis.

If processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the said interest, Art. 6(1)(f) 1 lit. f of the DSGVO is applicable as a legal basis for processing.

Data deletion and storage period

The personal data of an affected person will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to exist. Furthermore, data may be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the responsible party is subject. We will block or delete data once the prescribed retention period has expired, unless its continued storage is necessary for entering into or fulfilling a contractual relationship.
