Information for you
The German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer has put together additional links with information on cancer, therapeutic and rehabilitation activities for patients – but also for relatives and the interested public.
Glossary
The basis of every occupation with a scientific topic are technical terms. We also want patients, relatives and interested lay people to understand the research literature.
Therefore, we would like to refer you to an online database with technical terms of cancer research:
Onkopedia
Onkopedia (in German) is a service that illuminates, categorizes and makes transparent oncological diseases from different angles. From the definition of the term for symptoms and diagnosis to treatment methods, medicines, after effects and aftercare, each aspect is explained and presented clearly. Onkopedia offers guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of blood and cancer as well as a straightforward, easy-to-understand overview of common cancers.
AYA guidelines
The German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology (DGHO) has published guidelines for the treatment of AYA, young adults with cancer (in German).
AYApedia
The working group “AYA Network” of the DGHO German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology e.V. has compiled patient information on how to cope with the disease and with treatment side effects in the new AYApedia (in German) field.
The topics of the portal are:
- Movement and sports, with exercises
- Nutrition, with recipes
- Fatigue
- Fertility care
- Psycho-oncology
- Spirituality
Future expansions are planned for these.
